During the Transcavallo ski mountaineering event, sponsored by ATMO, we launched our first sustainable packaging idea, giving it to every athlete who took part in the event.
This first sustainable packaging, called ATMO version 1, is our first approach in trying to complement our idea of low environmental impact products. It is not a definitive solution, nor is any ATMO product, in fact ATMO’s aim is to continue to evolve and improve trying to have as little impact as possible while maintaining high quality.
In this first version of packaging we have 4 elements:
- Our product: ATMO sunscreen & aftersun which are Co2-free sprays, designed with the “Bag on Valve” technology. Hence we’re able to create a sunscreen and an aftersun that are low impact to our planet, making it environment friendly and ozone friendly.
- A cardboard outer pack called cushionPaper™, specially chosen to reduce Co2 emissions in its production phase by approximately 20.52kg compared to plastic solutions. It significantly reduces disposal problems and cuts the amount of paper needed to make a sheet of corrugated cardboard by up to 70% compared to a traditional cardboard.
- Surrounding the product we have a postcard made of recycled paper telling about our products, our values and a promotional discount code for our shop.
- The pack is held in place with a 100% eco-friendly silicone bracelet, designed to be worn.
This pack is our first step towards having a low impact brand and we will be curious to know what you think about it: e-mail us at firstname.lastname@example.org and give us a feedback about what you would like ATMO to change about its pack or if you have other low-impact solutions that we do not know about. We’d love to read your suggestions.
